Hack Your Housing: Check Out This Berkeley Freshman?s ?Ridiculously Automated? Dorm Room

So this is pretty fun. A University of California at Berkeley freshman named Derek Low uploaded a video to YouTube today of what he's calling the "BRAD", or the Berkeley Ridiculously Automated Dorm. Apparently, Low set out three months ago to make "the most ridiculously automated dorm room in the school ever." That's a hard claim to verify, but by the looks of the results -- which apparently only set Low back a few hundred dollars -- I'd venture to say he has probably taken the crown.

Khloe & Lamar Recap: Welcome to Dallas, Rob

This week on Khloe & Lamar, the couple continued struggling as they adjust to life in a new city, with a new team, no friends around, and so forth.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, Khloe's family paid a visit.

Lamar's return to L.A. was documented last week. Now it's Rob Kardashian and Kris Jenner's turn to come to Dallas. How did everything turn out?

Let's find out in Sunday's Khloe & Lamar recap ...

Lamar Odom on the Bench

"Being new to a city, not knowing anyone, I'm definitely lonely," Khloe Kardashian says. "Now that Rob's here it gives me someone to hang out with." Guess the best friend/assistant and camera crew aren't cutting it. Minus 10.

Khloe and Lamar reveal that they'd like Rob to move to Dallas. "I don't want to take a step backwards," he says. Ouch, Dallas. Ouch. Plus 20.

"I get it," Khloe says. "You have your own life, but Lamar needs you right now, Rob, like your boy is hurting…[and] I am really lonely in Dallas." Minus only 5, because as lame as Khloe is, what else does Rob have going on exactly?

"Mark Cuban takes care of me," Kris Jenner says. Minus 15 for Mark Cuban.

Kourtney and Kim Kardashian are flown into Dallas on a private plane for the Mavs game. Feel like home now Lamar? Is it a good thing? Wash.

"I'm so embarrassed that my mom would go behind my back and reach out to Mr. Cuban," Khloe says, pretending to actually care. Minus 10.

Khloe & Lamar Logo

"My sisters and my mom, they tell me what to do a lot and it's so frustrating. I want to show everyone I'm capable of living on my own." - Rob. Dude. Either freeload off your famous family and enjoy, or don't. Just stop whining. Minus 10.

Plus 20 for Kris actually reaching out to Lamar. "Kris, I think she feels for me because she understands my mother passed away at a young age," he says. "She always has words of encouragement, and it seems like what she tells me sticks."

Even Khloe sees how much she helped lift his spirits. Plus 5.

"Moms are moms," Khloe says. "Does she embarrass me? Yeah. Is she annoying at times? Yeah. But that's my mom and I think if you asked anyone about their mom they'd say the same thing." Not to Kris Jenner levels. Minus 40.

Lamar gives props to Kris for reaching out to Mark for the box seats, saying knowing where his family was helped him during the game. Couldn't have helped that much, as he was soon released by the Mavs. Minus 15.

Maybe now he'll heed her words and quit the NBA? Minus 10.

Rob decides to stay in Dallas. Freeloader. Plus 5.

Justin Bieber Accepts Award At Tribeca Film Festival

Pop star and manager Scooter Braun were awarded the Disruptive Innovation Award for challenging industry's traditional gatekeepers.
By Jocelyn Vena

<P><P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/bieber_justin/artist.jhtml">Justin Bieber</a> and his manager Scooter Braun were at the Tribeca Film Festival on Friday (April 27) to accept the <a href="/news/articles/1682522/justin-bieber-one-direction-recording.jhtml">2012 Tribeca Disruptive Innovation Award</a> for disrupting "the traditional gatekeepers of the music industry." </P><P> </P><P>Sporting a varsity jacket when he took the stage, the 18-year-old noted that a lot of what he does is a reflection of his relationship with his fans. "I don't think that I would be here without the Internet. The fans feel connected to me," he said, <a href="http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/technology/2012/04/justin-bieber-singer-teen-hearthrob-disruptive-innovator/" target="_blank">ABC News reports</a>. </P><P> </P><P><CENTER><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:757407/cp~name%3Dnews%26id%3D1682760%26vid%3D757407%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A757407" width="460" height="260" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed></CENTER> </P><P> </P><P>According to <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/04/27/justin-bieber-tribeca-disruptive-innovation-awards_n_1459518.html" target="_blank">The Huffington Post</a>, he recalled his early days of posting videos on YouTube under the moniker KidRauhl and how he was skittish of Braun, initially. </P><P> </P><P>"He called me, and my mom was like, 'Why am I going to trust a guy named Scooter?' " Bieber said. "So she ignored him, and he started calling all of the places where he saw me sing in my videos. ... It was some really creepy stuff. He finally found my great aunt, who I had never met before, to try and get in contact with me." </P><P> </P><P>Of those early days, Braun joked, "Either I was going to be the guy who watches videos of a young boy on the Internet and gets arrested, or I was going to sign him." </P><P> </P><P>The award seems fitting, given how much Bieber's rise to fame has changed the way talent can be discovered via the internet, and can use technology to spread the word. Coldplay, Rihanna's Official 'Princess Of China' Video Due In May

Rihanna-starring clip currently making the rounds is actually taken from Coldplay's live show, spokesperson confirms.

By now, you've probably seen the video for Coldplay's "Princess of China." It stars Rihanna as a Shiva-esque deity who waves her (many) arms back and forth in time with the tune but strangely does not actually feature Coldplay themselves.

The clip began making the rounds earlier this week and was not only touted as the "official video" but earned raves from fans of both acts. There's only one problem: It is most definitely not the actual "Princess of China" vid.

In fact, it's part of , a video they play during their performance of the song (as several Coldplay aficionados have been pointing out on YouTube). Just to clear up any confusion, we reached out to a spokesperson for the band, who told us in no uncertain terms: "It isn't the official video. ... It is, in fact, a clip that the band are using during their performance of the song on tour."

So there you have it. Of course, this raises the question of just when the real "Princess of China" video will premiere. After all, going by photos RiRi previously tweeted, the clip was filmed back in March. So, once again, we went to Coldplay's rep, who told us that the "Princess" video is still a few weeks away from debuting.

"It won't be finished until the third week of May," the spokesperson said. "It's going to be a minute."

Fuel TV asks for fans patience as they work for wider availability

During last week's UFC on Fuel event, Cagereaders vented their frustration about the lack of availability of Fuel across the country and how they are missing out on fights, pre and post-fight shows and news magazine shows. One reader said he hasn't missed a single UFC event in six years until the UFC started showing fights on Fuel, a station he can't get on Comcast, the nation's largest cable provider.

Readers also said that they have, on several occasions, called their cable provider to ask for Fuel. However, they have no idea if it's doing any good. Since the UFC started working with Fuel TV in January, there has been little word on if Fuel will be carried more widely any time soon.

Though Fuel won't say when, they did respond to Cagewriter's questions with this statement:

Everyone at FUEL TV wants exactly what UFC fans want ? to make our network available to every UFC fan possible. We appreciate their patience and have a team working diligently with distributors to make the network more widely available as quickly as possible.? In the meantime, we encourage UFC fans to call their TV provider and request that FUEL TV be added to their network lineup. ?Because, let's face it, watching UFC on FUEL TV is clearly a much better viewing experience than having to stream the fights online. To get FUEL TV, go to www.fuel.tv/getfueltv, or call 877-4 FUEL-TV.

The problem with patience is that it's rarely infinite in its supply. UFC fans who don't have Fuel missed out on Alexander Gustafsson, an exciting light heavyweight prospect. They may have patiently missed out on seeing his big win over Thiago Silva. How will fans react to missing the next breakout performance? Will they patiently wait until Fuel becomes widely available, or will they fail to care when it does?
